I finally understand why Donna had to deal with cancer and why our finances have been extremely tight for what seems forever…. I haven’t been forwarding all those chain letters I get in my email. They warned me. I guess I should have paid better attention and forwarded them on.

“I’m going to put that where I’ll know where to find it”
Well, it’s taken me a long time, but I’ve finally come to a realization… wait, let’s start at the top…
Pulled out my trusty weed-eater the other day…. and in less than 10 seconds after starting I ran out of trimmer line. No problem, I’ll just disassemble the head and put on more. Took out the small pin holding it together and proceeded with the task. Now, where was that extra line I had? Of course it was years and a state ago that I last used it, so there was no hope of finding it. But, that’s no problem, I needed to go to the hardware store anyway, so I carefully laid the parts out where “I’ll know where to find it”. Took me a day or two before I got to the store, but finally I had my line. Wound it on the reel, no problem…. now where was that tiny pin that held it all together… I know it was right here where “I’ll know where to find it”. No dice. How could it disappear, it was “right there”.
Oh, well, no problem. I have a pouch containing a large variety of different sizes of cotter pins, I’ll just get a new one and all will be good. Now where was that pouch. I know I had seen it for the first time since our move (three years ago) the other day, and I had put it right where “I’ll know where to find it.” Crap.
Made a temporary pin using a wire, and the problem was solved… but then the realization finally set in.
If you ever have something that you know you’ll need later, save yourself the trouble and just throw it away. You’ll never find it again anyway… well, not until such time as you no longer have a need for it.

I'm an opinionated technology, music and information junkie who is just trying to understand two things before he dies: Why do people insist on spending money for crappy software and technology that takes away their security and rights; and why is it that if a church is trying to reach people that don't already go to church, it's considered to be a bad thing.
